Hard

My very expensive, $18 breakfast at T3 this morning.

I got to the airport around 730am.

Found a seat and bought said breakfast.

Took a 8am call in between the two slices of sandwich.

Wondered why I’m always rushing and squeezing in time for this and that.

Saw a really beautiful mother of 2 young kids and their helper sitting across the cafe.

I think it was the combination of good looks, good make-up, good dress sense and looking all calm and at ease and graceful.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her. 😅

Snuck a photo of her and shared it with the hubs and sim lol.

I was that full of admiration.

Obviously I feel quite far away from her standard.

Beauty aside (because, let’s not go there), I don’t think I can achieve that level of gracefulness.

While I’d like to think I’m calm and collected most of the time, and the truth is, this is me more than half the time:

And after paddling so hard for so long, it’s difficult not to look completely disheveled.

Sometimes I feel like I’ve aged 10 years just trying to get Allie changed. She’s so active!

I’ve lost count of the number of times she fell and/or knocked herself in Melbourne.

The most memorable incident was in the changing room in the lounge. She was standing on the changing station and walking. I turned to grab a wet wipe. She fell through the gap between the changing station and wall, knocked her head on the changing station and got stuck hanging just above the dustbin.

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Anyway.

Went into Watsons with the intention of getting some tiger balm plasters.

Saw my regular cream on sale at $25 after all the discounts (vs usual price of $40+).

Bought 3, and a travel pack for the travel size cleanser.

Left Watsons with lots of cream but without the tiger balm.

Only remember said tiger balm when I reached the gate wtf.

The flight was good.

I managed to clear all my 300++ emails and start on some work.

Watched Incredibles 2 while having my meal.

Cleared immigration and came straight to the hotel.

Opened my laptop to send out all the emails in my outbox.

Received a new set of 40 over emails.

Sydney is 3 hours ahead of Singapore so I managed to catch the girls just before Allie’s bedtime.

Clarissa was happily telling me about how Allie climbed out of her walker, the cashier game they played together and the very nice yellow cake with brown skin that Ah Gong bought for her.. while Allie just kept babbling and smiling when she saw me on screen.

This morning Clarissa was tearing silently in bed after she woke up. I was already up and about and getting changed. I asked her why she was crying but she simply shrugged.

When I asked her about it later, she said it was because I was leaving for work.

The only good thing about this trip is that is is short.

But still, it is hard.

And I wonder why, and if, life and making a living needs to be so hard.
