I’ve been wanting to write.
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
I was sleeping at Singaporean hours but waking up at Australian time.. which meant only 5 hours of sleep daily, 6 at the maximum.
The day usually started at 8 and ended after 8.. and we’d go straight into debrief and dinner. Which meant there was no time to go to the gym.
Still it has been a great consumer learning trip, and I have learned so many things I didn’t know about Australia and Australian women, which I thought I knew well enough.
We’ve gathered so many stories, and I’m now grappling with how I could write them all down and turn them into something concrete.
Friday was a public holiday, but I was still in Sydney and the hubs had to work.
So it was Ah-ah Daycare to the rescue.
I arrived past midnight and went straight back to mummy duties.
This one has been sitting up on her own with so much ease and speed. I’m still trying to capture it on video. 😂
She hasn’t been sleeping well the week I was out, but we found out yesterday that she has not one, not two, but four teeth cutting through on the top of her gums.
Speaking of teeth, I realised Clarissa has changed from telling Allie, “You cannot eat this. You have no teeth.” to “You cannot eat this. You don’t have enough teeth. Two is not enough.”
Wonder what she’d say when Allie has six teeth. Would that be enough? 😂
Jiejie has been brushing her teeth for her, and both of them enjoy the experience. 🤣
I finally took Jiejie to the newly rebuilt playground downstairs and she had a blast.
Look where she stuck the mosquito patch though.
A little girl came over with her mummy and Clarissa noticed she didn’t have a mosquito patch.
“Mummy, the baby doesn’t have a mosquito patch. Later the mosquito bite her! How?” She said to me.
I had spare ones in my pouch so I asked if she’d like to give one to the baby.
She said yes, took the patch from me and walked over to the mummy and baby to give the patch to them.
Totally not shy about it.
We went over to my parents’ place for lunch, nap and a swim.
And then Auntie O came over for dinner and play!
Totally made the girls’ day. 😊
It’s Father’s Day and our 14th dating anniversary.
I rescheduled the girls’ swimming lesson and made reservations at Bayswater kitchen, which sounded like a decent brunch place.
Slight change in plans though; we were told last evening to visit the temple.
So we were out at 9am this morning.
Squeezed in 5 minutes to take photos because this girl was in a pretty dress gifted by my friend from work. 😆
In a dress, but still her usual 大剌剌 self.
I also dressed Jiejie in white!
So sweet together!
It was time for Allie’s morning nap so she was fussing a little in the car.
Clarissa held out her hand for Allie, and the little one took her sister’s hand and fell asleep promptly.
Petrol kiosk break before we set off for the second temple.
The weather was so hot it was almost crippling. I think the girls took it better than us parents, even though Clarissa said, “I’m going to be very tired if I go to the temple again.” 😂
Allie cried in the first temple because she was unfamiliar with the surroundings and the people. But she warmed up soon enough and allowed a few people other than me to carry her.
One of the relatives asked me, “Would she look for the helper?”
I think it was a harmless question.. but it was also quite insensitive?
I guess it was also in context of my recent business trips.. which seem to be very frequent. But I’m not expecting any more trips for the next 2-3 months?
I’m a full-time working mum who works full time at work and full time outside of work?
We made it to the restaurant on time, our sweat having dripped and dried twice over by now. 😅😅
The restaurant staff took a family photo for us and stuck it onto a father’s day card as a gift! Nice touch, though we all looked a little too sweaty in the picture.
I gave the man his Daddy’s dad card!
He said it’s a nice card! 😄
Food wasn’t superb but the lobster and prawn roll was decent.
She happily ordered “fish and chips!” and was munching her French fry when she asked her Daddy, “Where are the chips huh?” 😂
The baby drank half her bottle of milk (distracted, what’s new?) and happily sat on the baby chair entertaining herself.
She would turn her head to follow the waiting staff who was walking past our table, and smile like this while her head turned with his movement. 🤣
Or she would turn her entire body around to the other side and watch other diners eat their lunch. 🤣🤣
Eh you eating from the wrong side of the spoon.
Cheeky like a flower. 🤣
#lovebirds no. 2
Attempted to take another family portrait. This was the fifth attempt.
Ok this one not bad but someone wasn’t looking. 😏
We could have explored the place a little more but the weather really threw us off.
We were already all tired and sweated out by the time we visited the temples and got to the restaurant so we headed home very soon after we finished lunch.
Back to regular programming, pun intended. 😂
Allie had already finished her dinner and Clarissa was getting her “weekend only” exception.
We’ve got 2 电视迷s here.
In other news, I can’t believe it’s an hour to Monday. 😫
