Last night's #chitchatwithclarissa.
It was Daddy's turn to share.
🙎: Ok Daddy! Who made you happy today?
👦: Mmm.. Clarissa!
🙎: Oh.. what did Clarissa do?
👦: Mmm.. Clarissa is so cute.
🙎: Huh? I am cute about what?
Back-up in progress..
It's not difficult, but it takes time.
Sejda converts up to 20 URLs in one go so on months where I posted almost everyday, I have to split up the process.
I also dislike that the blue bar that prompts people to download the app appears at the bottom of every page, despite having logged on to Dayre.
But it doesn't obstruct any text or pictures so I'll live with it.
Renamed and organized in chronological order up to June 2015.
And then I couldn't do it anymore. 😂
I shall focus on creating all the .pdfs first!
Hahahaha also because this one woke up and was not satisfied with just sitting on my lap to watch my laptop.
Gotta entertain her.
"Ooh so this is how I'd look like with hair?"
Ooh just saw this.
I haven't received any email though.
The hubs says I'm a grammar monster, but grammar is so important especially in times like this, in Dayre-verse.
If you say an email "has been sent", I would expect it to be already sitting in my inbox isn't it? 🙄
Would people be starting another drama about promises made but not kept? "You said you sent an email to me but you didn't" kind of drama? 😂
Done saving the pdfs!
The only thing I checked was if the number of pdfs for each month corresponds with the number of posts.
Also clicked on a few pdfs for a random spot check. The last few lines for a few of the pages tend to get cut off or blocked by the blue bar.
But I can't spend any more time doing this. Already spent the entire morning and half the afternoon.
Waiting for the email from @/blog!
One of my most-used phrases whenever my sisters and I talk about the strange / nasty people we encounter, in reality and virtually:
Loosely translated, it means that the same kind of rice can feed all sorts of people, literally *any* kind you can and cannot imagine.
Just on today's "drama" caused by bad grammar on one party and impatience / illiteracy on another party.. there were comments like "No email???" with more than 1 "?" following a demand masked behind a question, and rants like "getting disappointed time and again" (which got deleted, thank goodness).
And there were people who called people who went straight to comment without reading the text "cyberbullies".
Bullies, maybe not?
Dayre could have just announced the shut-down without providing the download service. At the end of the day it's a FREE app for most of us. No one owes us anything zzz.
They could have given us more time, for sure. But at the end of the day they have a business to run.
It's not like they've milked a lot out of this community, not in the monetary sense anyway.
So just, calm. your. tits.
If your entries are that important to you, you can and you will find the time to download them – like the auntie over here.
If you have no time to do that, get a part timer to help.
If you want to do nothing and wait for the download option, then you wait. Patiently. Keep your self entitlement somewhere else. No one needs to see it.
If you refuse to do any of the above, I guess it's not that important to you so why don't you just walk away on your own quietly?
In other news today.
Someone did a half flip, on her own.
And got, erm, stuck.
And what did Mummy do?
She ran out to get her phone to take a photo to show Daddy. 😂
Went on a #jailbreak to meet my univ friends for dinner.
I was planning to take Clarissa with me, but the hubs took leave today to service the car.
So Clarissa decided to stay at home when I gave her the options of "going out with Mummy" or "staying at home with Daddy to watch 2 videos".
Yeah I cheated lah. 😂
But I did want to take her if she'd wanted to go.
But I rushed back to do bedtime with her because she wanted to wait for me, pump.. And now waiting to feed Meimei before I turn in for the night.
Gosh, I'm exhausted.
Didn't get to nap today because I was busy backing up.
I don't know why I call it a #jailbreak when it's not quite a break.
I can do it all but all of it is not mine to do

This resonated with me.
Not that I'm doing all the housework and whatnot, since I'm lucky to have a helper.
But I *do* feel like I'm *supposed* to do everything else for the girls. Shower, feed, tell stories, bed time. I feel obliged that I should be the one dropping everything else and rushing home from work to be home with the kids ASAP – while also working full time to provide for the family.
No one would say, "Oh you are a great mum" because I do all that.
No one would bat an eyelid.
But if the man does that, any of that, story telling or feeding or rushing home to take care of the kids, people would say, "Wow awesome dad. He does so much!"
It's so ingrained in our culture and upbringing, especially in Asia, that even I find myself falling into this trap.
No amount of education or feminist movement can eradicate this.
It's almost like I trapped myself in "jail" of my own accord, and then call it a "#jailbreak" when I go for, supposedly, a short break.
Is it really a break if I come home feeling a little guilty? 😂
Is it really a break if I come home feeling more tired than before? 😂😂
At this point (it's 1230am) after finishing the night/dream feed, I've lost my train of thought so I shall just turn in for the night.
