Of childhood dreams

Good morning French toast.
With leftover raisin buns.

Whipped up in 10 minutes!

Sticker play time.

She took off her socks to jump into the pool. πŸ˜‚

Her view of the world.

Pool, poop, sleep. πŸ˜„

The little girl in the float in the water (fountain) is Baby, that's her, according to her.

The traffic policeman on the left is Baba.

The woman with free flowing hair driving a convertible is Mama.

So many characters in the sticker books, but she specifically chose these three to be us.

I completely get why she thinks she's the girl in the swimsuit with the float, but I don't think she's ever seen Daddy directing traffic or Mommy driving.. even though I have a license.

It is, however, my childhood dream to be able to zoom around easily in a convertible by the age of 25. πŸ˜‚

But despite getting my license in just one attempt, I'm really not so good at driving.

So it's lovely to dream about it, and now through the eyes of my little one.

In the midst of sticker-ing and coloring, she paused and said to me, "Mama, see? Sky."

And happily went back to play.

Very eager to go swimming.

She was pretending to sit on the ledge of the pool, rapping humpty dumpty before sliding off the bed.

It's a routine they teach in the swimming class.

Said humpty rap. πŸ˜…

Hey sexay laday. πŸ˜…

Ready for swimming!

Mama swimming duty today. 😁
Today's the first lesson of the new term.

Most of the activities were the same, except for one where the coach got the kids to stand on an elevated area and pick up toys that were submerged at the bottom of the platform.

To pick up the toys, she had to bend her knees and get her face into the water.

She picked up two and then said to me:

Cannot reach.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Laugh die me.

And then she went off to play with the ducks and other random stuff.

Her classmate, who is a year older, used his foot to pick up the toys instead. πŸ˜‚

It was funny to see her kicking so hard whenever I walked past the coach, and then slacking when he was further away.

As usual she enjoyed herself!

But I feel that the pace of the class is inconsistent and often depends on whoever is in the class.

For example there were only 2 kids today and the boy in the class didn't like floating on the water.

The coach spent more time with him, which was perfectly understandable, but we were left hanging and doing nothing except to float around. πŸ˜…

That said, I guess we'll just continue the classes as long as she enjoys herself.

Tired is me.

I thought it'd be an easy afternoon after we got back from swimming, because she'd take a long nap and I can take a short one.

But, no.

For 3 hours from 3 to 6, she sang, danced, colored, pretended to cook rice.. and did. not. sleep. πŸ˜‚

We had an early dinner while my dad, sisters and sister's boyfriend dropped by.

She played with them happily while I pretty much stared into space. πŸ˜…

Where did all her energy come from?

Bedtime tonight: 830pm! πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

2039

Mission successful.

Imma nuah and sleep soon too. πŸ˜‚

One of the songs I play on repeat mode back in university.

It may be raining
But there's a rainbow above you
You'd better let somebody love you

Let somebody love you
Before it's too late

I've only really caught up on this series today, watching only the latest episode and skipping songs I don't have a feel for, but aww so proud! Nathan Hartono came in first in this round just before the finals.

Singaporean singers seldom make it this far in competitions. πŸ™Š

Another one of the finalists.

She's only 16!
From Penang.

One of my other childhood dreams is to be able to sing well, effortlessly. πŸ˜‚

Not because I want to be a star or anything close to that, but because it's cool to be able to sing nicely.

But you can see where this is going, because I said it's a childhood dream, just like me driving a convertible with my hair flowing effortlessly with the wind. πŸ˜‚

Can't. Sing. For. Nuts. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
